It is wonderful and surprising that the human scientific enterprise has, over the centuries, succeeded in revealing so much of the hidden workings of the universe around us. Even more wonderful and exciting is that so much more still remains to be understood and appears to soon be within our grasp. It has been my privilege and joy to take part in this exhilarating enterprise. I want to thank my many collaborators from around the world, who share in this recognition, for their inspiration and companionship.
